Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner Job Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner is part of our technology team and will work with clients and users to define end-user applications and workflows to solve problems articulated by our end users. This is an exciting opportunity to work with stakeholders to define software solutions that accomplish business goals in the healthcare space.   Application focused Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner who is very adept at working with end users, understand how technology enables workflow, and ideally have some experience working with healthcare, particularly more in the doctor’s office/EMR space. 

Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner Job Responsibilities: 
  • Work directly with end users and business stakeholders to understand business goals to drive functionality and process needs
  • Work with product managers to take a high level feature roadmap defined by the product manager into actionable user stories and clear acceptance criteria
  • Observe end user interaction with the applications and manual processes to identify opportunities for streamlining workflow and automating manual processes
  • Understand the needs of all stakeholders to define a prioritized backlog and make appropriate trade-off decisions to ensure team is always working on the most critical work
  • Work directly with stakeholders to understand and document requirements and incorporate feedback through collaborative iterations of analysis
  • Work with customers to determine detailed requirements for customer-requested enhancements
  • Work with stakeholders and teams to understand and plan for how modular applications done by the teams can be integrated into existing end-user applications, including defining requirements for SSO/user security, consistent user experience (presentation), and other considerations unique to modular applications
  • Ensure that solutions accomplish the requested business goal and work as designed
  • Present to stakeholders at all levels of the organization both internal and external  Identify risks to delivery and work with team, scrum master, management and others to ensure appropriate and timely resolution
  • Assist in documentation and maintenance of artifacts to explain application functionality
  • Work with teams across the company and external vendors to drive towards resolution of questions and issues raised by engineers
  • Actively participate in agile sprint ceremonies (standup, retrospectives, sprint planning, etc.) 
Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner Job Requirements: 
  • 5+ years of experience working as a business analyst
  • 5+ years writing requirements for end-user applications
  • Experience with agile, and specifically the product owner role, i.e. writing user stories and acceptance criteria that are meaningful for engineer
  • Passion for solving business problems with software applications
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and design skills
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Process oriented, ownership for projects and deadlines
  • Self-starter, ability to identify actionable steps towards completing objectives  
Experience in following areas is a strong plus:
  • Experience working with users of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Experience working with clinicians, care managers, office personnel, particularly in an outpatient setting
  • Experience working with applications that are integrated with other applications
  • Exposure to SMART on FHIR
  • Working with Atlassian Jira and Confluence, Aha!
  • Working with applications that have users across multiple organizations
