Payroll Administrator Summary:
 
The Payroll Administrator will work in a dynamic environment in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role requires knowledge of payroll rules and regulations for multi-state jurisdictions and offers an opportunity to be part of a rapidly-growing, private-equity backed portfolio company that does a large volume of M&A and M&A integration activity.
 
The right candidate will have experience in the areas of payroll processing, understanding of the regulatory environment, system implementation and integration, and experience using multiple payroll processors. We are looking for someone whose diligent and a motivated self-starter that can work independently with little oversight. You must be ready to roll up your sleeves and ensure payrolls are processed timely and accurately. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the transition to a centralized payroll system for our newly combined companies as of 1/1/2019.

Payroll Administrator Responsibilities:
  • Process and verify semi-monthly payroll for multiple US states
  • Confirm, monitor, and process special deductions and adjustments including 401(k) transmittals
  • Calculate and prepare manual paychecks when required
  • Liaise with accountants regarding various employee related tax matters
  • Coordinate with HR to maintain employee payroll files including new hires, terminations, and salary changes
  • Assist in year-end analysis of Wage & Tax reports
  • Set up Federal, State, and Local taxes and audit for discrepancies
  • Assist with Worker’s Comp and 401(k) audits
  • Integrate, optimize, streamline, and consolidate the payroll functions for multiple companies
Payroll Administrator Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of payroll experience at a mid-size company (200-500 EE) 
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with multiple payroll platforms
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience processing both US and international payroll (primarily UK & Australia)
  • Experience with implementing and integrating payroll systems
