Controls Analyst Job Summary:

Candidates will assist in the day-to-day maintenance, build-out and development of Derivatives and Collateral infrastructure and control framework for OTC Derivative Products for Corporate Treasury and Global Funding. Daily responsibilities will include analysis of complex and varied OTC Derivative populations and their associated collateral and projected cashflows. Build out robust reporting platform and provide daily commentary to Front Office and Senior Management.

Controls Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Works with product Data Stewards to complete manual data validations, determine automation rule set and prescribe variance tolerance thresholds.
  • Analyze diverse OTC Derivative populations and liaise with Middle Office/Finance to provide daily commentary on material movements.
  • Develop processes and queries to confirm application processes are working as per the requirements.
  • Validates data and signs off on reports within test environments to confirm Business Intelligence tool accuracy, functionality and EDM Standards are met.
  • Work with upstream data providers to communicate issues and work to resolve them in a timely manner. Also provide consistent feedback and status updates to stakeholders as these issues are raised, resolved and implemented to production.
  • Regularly test data in conjunction of scheduled releases and upstream migrations.
  • Create required processes, controls, documentation and evidence to ensure adherence to EDM Standards and RDA requirements.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • General Ledger reconciliation experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate, track and organize all written and verbal communications and prioritize accordingly for the CT Controls Team
  • Understands concepts and application of Business Intelligence tools, demonstrates understanding of relationship between data and business rules and functions.
  • Proficient with tools and software to extract and analyze data in the data management function
  • A demonstrated history of strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Understand the relationship between derivatives and their associated collateral positions
  • Ability to build relationships, negotiate and influence across diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to balance strategic and tactical solutions, and to drive technology initiatives
  • Process design and data/financial analysis skills
  • Ability to multi-task

Desired Skills:

  • 3-5 years experience analyzing and reporting financial data, preferably in a Middle Office or Finance capacity
  • SQL knowledge and experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ideal candidate should have a strong comprehension of the bank products
  • Must have strong analytical skills and have experience working across multiple applications
  • Ability to work independently and take lead on addressing issues
  • Demonstrate extensive history of working with SQL, VBA, Python or other programming language
